2010 Hill Stakes Betting & Odds

September 17th, 2010

A bumper day of racing is planned at Rosehill on Saturday and as part of the action the Group 2 Hill Stakes (1900m) will take place where two horses are battling for favouritism.

Currently the Peter Snowden-trained mare Purple is at the top of the markets at Sportsbet paying $3 to win the 2010 Hill Stakes following an impressive last start third to Theseo in the Chelmsford Stakes.

At very generous odds despite winning their past two starts Landlocked looks a great Place chance at Ladbrokes.com.au

However, there is another horse close on her heels as Chris Wallers’ Triple Honour, ideally drawn in barrier two, is also quoted shortly at $3.80.

The three other gallopers at single figure odds for Saturday’s showdown are Descarado ($5.50), Count Encosta ($7) and Waller’s other stable rep Hawk Island ($8).

Tony Noonan’s Soul Diva is the roughie of the field out to $51 after finishing dead last at their most recent start, while the punters have also forgotten Pacino ($17) despite their excellent draw with gate one, Anthony Cummings-trained Landlocked ($17) who won their past two on the trot making them a good look-in for a Place, and 2010 Melbourne Cup hopeful Jessicabeel ($11).

The 2010 Rydges North Sydney Hill Stakes is Race 5 on the Rosehill card for Saturday and is scheduled to start at 3:20pm.
